Another candidate for Nets head coach vacancy emerges

The Nets may look to a former New York Knicks assistant coach to take over as head coach in Brooklyn.

With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving set to represent Brooklyn for the foreseeable future, plenty of big names have been thrown around in the conversation for the next head coach of the Nets.

Although reports indicate some within the organization want to see interim head coach Jacque Vaughn stick around, he has some stiff competition with Mark Jackson, Tyronn Lue, Jeff Van Gundy and former New Jersey Nets star and head coach of the 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets Jason Kidd all emerging as options.

Another known name within the game has surfaced as a candidate. Former Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau is now in the running, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Berman also added in his report that both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving both “like and respect Thibodeau,” having worked with him when they played for Team USA while he served as an assistant coach.
