The times are a-changin’ in the Big Ten. The conference signed a new media rights deal that eliminates ABC and ESPN. Now NBC-Peacock and CBS Sports will supplement Fox’s coverage.
The first game of the season for Michigan football in 2023 will be the inaugural Big Ten contest on NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock, and now we know who will be on the call.
Via NBC Sports’ press release:
Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Chris Simms (analyst), Lewis Johnson (sidelines) – East Carolina vs. Michigan, as the Big Ten season kicks off one month from today, Sept. 2 on Peacock (Noon ET)
For Tirico, it will be a short commute. The prolific play-by-play man lives in Ann Arbor with his family.
The Wolverines’ first two contests will be uncharted territory. The first is on Peacock. The second, Week 2’s home game against UNLV, will be televised on CBS.
The Week 1 game against East Carolina will start at noon EDT. The game will take place at The Big House.
