The NBA’s complete schedule for the 2022-23 regular season has yet to arrive but select preseason dates in October are already being made official via announcements from other teams. Shortly after reporting to training camps in late September, teams typically play either four or five exhibitions prior to their regular-season opener.
Last year, the Houston Rockets had a four-game preseason schedule — with home exhibitions versus Washington and Miami, and road contests at Toronto and San Antonio. This year, of the three leaks involving the Rockets to date, it’s the exact opposite of 2021. The Spurs and Raptors will visit Houston in the first week of October, while the Rockets have a return date at Miami in the second week.
If the trend holds, Houston’s fourth preseason game could be at Washington. However, neither the Rockets nor the Wizards have released their schedules yet. It’s also worth noting that the two home exhibitions for the Rockets are slated for Sunday, Oct. 2 and Friday, Oct. 7, which would likely be prior to the first Astros game of Major League Baseball’s 2022 postseason. That could potentially help the Rockets with exhibition attendance and interest.
Scroll on for the announcements to date. Local TV and ticketing information is not yet available, though virtually all Houston games are broadcast via official partner AT&T SportsNet Southwest.
(Editor’s note: This post will be updated as more exhibitions are leaked.)
