We’re all human beings, which means we’re all going to make some mistakes from time to time and some of those mistakes will happen while we’re on the job. It happens.
Los Angeles Angels shortstop Andrew Velazquez knows exactly what I’m talking about this morning because yesterday afternoon in Detroit he made a pretty brutal mistake in front of a lot of people.
Velazquez fielded a grounder with two outs in the third inning of a tie game. Instead of throwing to first for the easy out he threw to third where a runner was headed. Third baseman Luis Rengifo wasn’t on the bag because he wasn’t expecting a throw to third and everybody was safe.

The Angels got out of that inning without giving up another run but fans had jokes about that play.
