The LSU women’s basketball team had a colossal opportunity on Thursday night at home.
No. 1 South Carolina was on the ropes entering the fourth quarter, but the Tigers couldn’t close out a win as the Gamecocks survived to remain perfect on the year. There were encouraging moments in the game, and it looked like LSU was good enough to win, but mistakes ultimately proved costly.
The play of [autotag]Angel Reese[/autotag] was a bit of a microcosm of that. She finished the game with a respectable 15 points and eight rebounds, but she was limited in the fourth quarter as she found herself in foul trouble and ultimately fouled out.
While the loss certainly can’t be placed on her shoulders specifically, Reese took the blame on social media as the leader of the team, ensuring fans that the Tigers would bounce back.
I’m a DAWG. Respect me. This game was on me but I’m rocking with my girls day in & day out! GEAUX TIGERS! 💛💜

Reese and the Tigers will get the chance to respond on Monday night when they hit the road to take on Mississippi State.
