Angel Reese donates to cover year’s tuition for her high school basketball team

Angel Reese is using her NIL profile to give back to her hometown community.

While the advent of name, image and likeness rights has allowed athletes to make money while in college, it also allows them to raise money to give back to their local communities.

We saw LSU’s [autotag]Flau’Jae Johnson[/autotag] do so recently for the Boys & Girls Club in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, and fellow women’s basketball star [autotag]Angel Reese[/autotag] is doing the same.

Reese is donating $12,000 to her alma mater Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore to cover a year’s worth of tuition for the school’s current women’s basketball team. The fund Reese is donating to is the same fund that helped pay her tuition throughout her four years at Saint Francis.

Reese was one of the top players in women’s college basketball last season while leading the Tigers to their first national title, and that’s resulted in a significant boost to her NIL profile. She’s now valued at $1.7 million, ranking No. 6 in On3’s NIL rankings.

And Reese is using that profile to give back to the next generation of college basketball players in her home community.
