With the 2022-23 college basketball regular season coming to an end next weekend, the focus will shift to conference tournaments.
It’s a time when teams can enhance their resume or even make a run and punch their ticket with an automatic bid. North Carolina needs to stack up some big wins in the final three games.
While UNC will not win the ACC regular-season title, the race at the top involves a few teams. Miami holds a lead over Virginia at the top of the standings, but Clemson, Pitt and NC State still have a shot.
As for the ACC Tournament, NCAA analyst Andy Katz made his prediction for every conference tournament, and he believes the Hurricanes will win it this year:
- ACC: Miami.
- Jim Larranaga’s squad is peaking at the right time and could make another deep run.
Miami has been arguably the most consistent team in the ACC all season. After a run to the Elite Eight last year, it is primed to go further.
If the Hurricanes do end up winning the conference tournament, they should improve their seeding in the NCAA Tournament as well.
But let’s just hope UNC can go on a run and make some news in the next few weeks.
