Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins had his request for a religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine denied by the NBA on Friday.
The league’s decision means Wiggins will not be allowed to participate in Warriors home games due to the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s city vaccination requirements. The current order states that all people 12 years and older have to be vaccinated in order to attend large indoor gatherings such as an NBA game.
While the rules in other cities will allow Wiggins to play, he as of now is in jeopardy of missing every single Warriors home game. Here is a look at the NBA’s statement regarding the denial of his request for religious exemption:

The first chance to see this decision impact Wiggins and the Warriors is on October 6, when Golden State hosts the Nuggets in preseason action.
