Andrew Whitworth finishes T25 at American Century Championship

Andrew Whitworth put together a solid debut at the American Century Championship, finishing one spot behind Aaron Rodgers.

Andrew Whitworth traded in his pads for clubs over the weekend as he made his debut at the American Century Championship, the biggest celebrity golf tournament of the year. It featured a star-studded field with legends from the sports and entertainment worlds, ranging from Steph Curry and Patrick Mahomes to Jerry Rice and Justin Timberlake.

Whitworth is a really good golfer and can often be found on the course, but he faced some stiff competition along Lake Tahoe this weekend. He finished the tournament with a total score of 32 points in the modified Stableford format, shooting rounds of 79, 84 and 78.

His 32 points were tied for 25th out of 87 golfers, matching Alfonso Ribeiro – who’s better known as Carlton from “Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” In 24th was Aaron Rodgers, with Patrick Peterson coming in 23rd and Alex Smith 22nd.

Whitworth finished one point better than Jerry Rice and Ray Allen, and four points ahead of Roger Clemens.

Vinny Del Negro won the tournament with a point total of 69, beating John Smoltz in a one-hoole playoff. Tony Romo finished third, Kyle Williams was 10th and Adam Thielen came in 12th – the best performance of any active NFL player.
