Andrew Thomas: Browns focused on my character, scheme fit in interviews

One of the potential Cleveland Browns draft selections with the No. 10 overall pick, Andrew Thomas met with the Browns recently via teleconference. The Georgia left tackle shed some light on the meeting in an interview with Mary Kay Cabot.

Thomas brought up how the Browns, specifically GM Andrew Berry, focused on his character as much as they did his on-field skills.

“Andrew said I had a lot of the intangibles that they’re looking to add to their team, good character,’’ Thoams told cleveland.com in a phone interview. “They feel that translates to playing on the field, so I feel that’s something I have.’’

Thomas also discussed how new head coach Kevin Stefanski viewed him in their separate call. Stefanski sees the behemoth Thomas as a scheme fit for the running offense he will install in Cleveland.

“He was saying me being athletic is something that they like as far being able to open up holes in the wide zone,’’ Thomas said.

Thomas is one of the leading candidates to be the No. 10 overall pick.
