Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins urge Deshaun Watson to force trade from Texans

Not going great for the Texans.

The Houston Texans’ firing of head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien was supposed to be a reset button for a franchise that still had one of the league’s brightest young quarterbacks to build around in Deshaun Watson — even if their now-No. 3 pick was traded to Miami.

But in the handling of that search for O’Brien’s replacement, the Texans settled on former New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as GM, and they infuriated Watson in the process.

It’s gotten so bad that even Andre Johnson — the former Texans star receiver who was literally on owner Cal McNair’s search advisory team — is telling Watson to stand firm and force his way out of Houston.

Johnson tweeted on Tuesday that the “Texans organization is known for wasting” the careers of players. Johnson also took some shots at Texans VP of football operations Jack Easterby for his toxic presence in the organization. Few would know that feeling better than DeAndre Hopkins who would also chime in on the tweet.

And to put in perspective how rare it is for Johnson to speak out on social media, he hasn’t posted anything on Twitter that wasn’t a Crown Royal ad since April of 2019 (!!!).

That should only add more weight to a tweet that does no favors for the Texans’ hopes of keeping Watson happy in Houston.
