Carson Wentz is no longer a Philadelphia Eagle, with the franchise trading the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft to the Indianapolis Colts for future selections.
It could be the key to restarting his career with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich coaching the Colts.
But before we look ahead, we have to look back one more time with this quote from ex-Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, in a mic’d up moment from 2017 in which he tells San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch how excited he is about Wentz.
“It’s been fun,” he said of coaching Wentz. “As long as we don’t screw up him, right?”
Uh, about that …

It might not be completely on Eagles screwing him up, but given the lack of weapons Philly had in recent years, it could be one big reason Wentz had a disastrous end to his career in Philadelphia.
This 2019 tweet is also making the rounds for all the wrong reasons:

Sigh.
