The Denver Broncos are doubling down on last offseason’s big acquisition of Russell Wilson by reportedly making another splash trade Tuesday to acquire head coach Sean Payton from the New Orleans Saints.
The latest move will cost them another two draft picks after they parted five in the Wilson trade. So that’s seven picks, including three in the first round, and three players the Broncos have traded in order to land a quarterback and coach they hope can bring another Super Bowl to Denver.
Here’s an outline of everything the Broncos gave up.
To Seahawks:
2022 first-round pick
2022 second-round pick
2022 fifth-round pick
2023 first-round pick
2023 second-round pick
TE Noah Fant
QB Drew Lock
DE Shelby Harris
To Saints:
2023 first-round pick (acquired from Dolphins in Bradley Chubb trade)
2024 second-round pick
