Amon-Ra St. Brown on the rest of the Lions season: “We can always be better”

USA TODAY Sports’ Mackenzie Salmon sits down with Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown.

These are NOT the same old Lions!

Detroit won seven of its first nine games, and Dan Campbell’s squad appears significantly different than those recent teams which won 9, 3, 5, 3, and 6 games respectively during the past five seasons.

A key reason for the transformation has been the play of wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, who recently spoke with Mackenzie Salmon of USA Today Sports.

The “Sports Seriously” host recently asked the star, who began this season notching 100+ receiving yards in four straight games, about whether or not the team has played its best ball of the year.

“We can always be better,” said St. Brown. “There is always room for improvement.”

Lions fans have got to love the lack of complacency in those comments.

The reason: Detroit hasn’t made the postseason since suffering a 20-point drubbing by the Seahawks in a Wild Card game in 2016. This year’s squad, led by St. Brown, Goff, Hutchinson, Campbell, and others don’t appear to be taking their feet off the gas.

Within their interview, St. Brown also speaks about being compared to Aaron Donald and the impressive backfield duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
