Wednesday is officially the first day NFL teams can announce contracts with free agents. But over the course of the last two days, many of the top free agents have already agreed to terms with teams and the actual signing of the contract is just a formality.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have already seen the departure of several top names including linebacker Bud Dupree and cornerback Mike Hilton. But oddly enough, there has been no word on two of the Steelers more high-profile guys, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner.
Unfortunately for both guys, they are suffering through a free-agent market where there is more supply than demand. This could work to the Steelers advantage if both players realize they aren’t going to cash in like they had hoped in free agency and would be willing to return to the team for less money.
But I want to pass the question off to the fans. If Conner and Smith-Schuster continue to sit on the free-agent market, does this improve their chances of returning to the team or are you just ready for them to move on? Let us know in the comments.
