No Green Bay Packers receiver had a higher passer rating when targeted during the 2019 season than Allen Lazard.
According to Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus, Lazard led all Packers receivers in targeted passer rating last season at 117.9, a mark that bested even Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams (101.4)
Lazard and Adams were the only two receivers on the roster with a targeted passer rating of at least 100.0.
In fact, only 12 receivers in the entire NFL with at least 36 targets had a higher passer when targeted than Lazard last season.
The stat is another feather in the cap for Lazard, who caught 35 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns during his first full season with the Packers. Lazard averaged 9.2 yards per target, 1.62 yards per route run and finished 18th among qualified NFL receivers in DVOA.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the NFL’s all-time leader in passer rating, called Lazard an ascending player entering 2020.
“By the end of the season, he was called upon many, many times in important situations to make big plays and he did,” Rodgers said. “He’s just a great teammate, and ascending player, loved his approach every week and he made some big-time plays for us.”
Lazard will go into this season as the favorite to be the team’s No. 2 receiver behind Adams.
