Allen Lazard helps Packers take first-half lead against Saints

The Packers have a lead in New Orleans after Allen Lazard’s short touchdown catch.

Two catches from Allen Lazard helped the Green Bay Packers take a lead over the New Orleans Saints in the first half of Sunday night’s showdown at the Superdome.

On the Packers’ third drive, Lazard caught a 48-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers to get things moving and then finished off the quick scoring march with a 5-yard catch. The score gave the Packers a 13-7 lead in the second quarter.

Here’s the touchdown:

Lazard was wide open with Saints cornerback Marcus Lattimore trailing several yards behind in coverage.

Taking on a starring role with Davante Adams (hamstring) inactive, Lazard already has four catches for 67 yards and the score.

Rodgers has completed nine of his first 12 passes for 106 yards and a score.
