First with the UFC and now with Bellator, Burt Watson has been hyping up MMA fighters before their walks to the cage for almost two decades.
And guess what?
“All the fighters love him,” Bellator president Scott Coker said.
That compliment is part of “We Rollin!: The Burt Watson Story,” an 11-minute short documentary produced by the promotion, which takes a look at Watson’s career in combat sports. It spans 38 years beginning in boxing before he spent 14 years as the on-site coordinator for the UFC and now two-plus years with Bellator in a similar role.
In the video feature, Watson, who hosts MMA Junkie’s “Legend 2 Legend” series, speaks about how he had plans to be fashion designer, but his course changed after he befriended legendary boxing champion Joe Frazier.
The rest is history.
“Burt is an angel,” Coker said. “He’s just a bolt of lightning. He’s the guy that comes in and wakes up all the fighters and gets the fighters to perform. And I’ll tell you, all the fighters love him.”
Get a behind-the-scenes look at Watson doing what he does best in the video featured above.
