All of the fired head coaches now have new NFL jobs

Even Jay Gruden has landed on his feet.

Fast and consistent job turnover isn’t anything new at the NFL level.

That’s why it was notable when the Washington Redskins got out in front of the whole cycle by firing Jay Gruden in the middle of the season.

And that’s why it wasn’t any surprise when Gruden ended up getting hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an offensive coordinator.

With Gruden landing with the Jaguars and former Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera now in charge of the Redskins, all five coaches who lost jobs over the course of the past year have new homes.

Here’s the running list, via ESPN’s Field Yates:

The biggest drop there is obviously former Cleveland coach Freddie Kitchens going from the top spot to a positional coach.

Knowing the NFL, any one of these non-Rivera guys could end up being a head coach again soon. But the Redskins weren’t afraid to make a lateral move with Rivera while attempting to rebuild the culture.
