A bantamweight matchup is the latest addition to the UFC’s Oct. 10 lineup.
The UFC has added [autotag]Ali Alqaisi[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Tony Kelley[/autotag] to the event, which is expected to take place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with a person with knowledge of the situation who requested anonymity because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA DNA was first to report the news.
Alqaisi (8-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC), Jordan’s first UFC fighter, was narrowly edged out by Irwin Rivera in his promotional debut earlier this month. Prior to that, he was on a five-fight winning streak, with three of his wins coming by submission.
Kelley (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) lost a unanimous decision to fellow newcomer Kai Kamaka at UFC 252 in an action-packed contest where both men earned a “Fight of the Night” bonus. Kelley will be moving down to 135 pounds to take on Alqaisi.
