Alex Smith explained what is driving his return to football after the horrific leg injury suffered in 2018.
The Washington Football Team QB said, “I don’t think I could look my kids in the eye and talk to them about it giving it their all and pushing through things.”
Great stuff on what is poised to be one of the greatest individual comebacks from injury in sports.
“I don’t think (football) is something I could walk away from and be able to sleep at night if I did,” the former No. 1 overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers who came to Washington via trade from Kansas City said.

Meanwhile, the comeback process took another big step Thursday when Smith took part in passing drills with a rush coming at him.
Smith took three snaps in that situation and fired three passes, and was forced to evade pressure in the pocket and show legit footwork to move and make throws. Washington Football defensive end Nate Orchard even jumped offsides on one rep.
The veteran quarterback made one obvious completion to tight end Richard Rodgers and one ugly overthrow to receiver Cam Sims on the sideline. His first throw looked good but it’s unclear if rookie wideout Antonio Gandy-Golden held on to the completion as he hit the ground
