Either [autotag]Alex Oliveira[/autotag] or [autotag]Randy Brown[/autotag] is guaranteed to rebound in his first fight of 2021.
That’s because Oliveira and Brown are set to fight each other in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 27 in the promotion’s first event of the year. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Monday but requested anonymity since the UFC has yet to make an announcement. Combate was first to report the news.
Both Oliveria (22-9-1 MMA, 11-7 UFC) and Brown (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will be coming off losses when they square off against each other. Oliveira most recently lost by submission to Shavkat Rakhmonov in October at UFC 254. Brown, meanwhile, was knocked out by Vicente Luque in August.
Those losses snapped two-fight winning streaks for both fighters.
With the addition, UFC Fight Night on Feb. 27 now includes:
- Dominick Reyes vs. Jiri Prochazka
- Raphael Assuncao vs. Raoni Barcelos
- William Knight vs. Alonzo Menifield
- Alexis Davis vs. Sabina Mazo
- Randy Brown vs. Alex Oliveira
