Alex Collins continues to prove he’s a ‘come-through guy’ for Seahawks

Seattle running back Alex Collins continues to prove he’s a “come-through guy” for the Seahawks after finishing Week 4 as the leading rusher.

Running back Alex Collins continues to impress Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll in his second stint back with the team.

Collins finished the Week 4 outing against the 49ers as the Seahawks’ leading rusher, logging 10 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in two catches on two targets for 34 yards.

“It was really obvious. He had the big catch and run which was easy for him but a nice play, it changed field position and got us moving a bit,” Carroll said Monday afternoon. “His running was really effective and consistent, then he had the really nice touchdown run where he was dancing through the mess, it looked great.”

Collins was originally selected by Seattle in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He spent two years in Baltimore before re-signing with the Seahawks last season.

Carroll is pleased Collins is now back in the Emerald City.

“Alex has really been a come-through guy for us, he has really done a nice job when we’ve called on him,” Carroll said. “He practices really hard, he’s tuned in every day, so he prepares to do well, and it happened.

“It was great.”
