Alabama’s Season Opener Kickoff Time Announced

The Tide and Hurricanes will square off beginning at 2:30 P.M. CT on Sept. 4 on ABC.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will begin their quest for their 19th national championship on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Atlanta, GA for the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium against the Miami Hurricanes as part of an SEC vs. ACC doubleheader on the season-opening weekend.

Tuesday, networks such as ESPN and ABC announced the kickoff times of several key season-opening matchups, including the anticipated Alabama-Miami matchup. The Tide and Hurricanes will square off beginning at 2:30 P.M. CT on Sept. 4 on ABC.

Alabama has had much success inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, including a 2-0 record on season-openers. Alabama defeated Florida State in the 2017 opener, 24-7, in the game dubbed as “the greatest opener of all-time.” The Tide also beat Duke to open the 2019 season, 42-3.

The Crimson Tide has a 14-3 overall record against Miami, according to Winsipedia. The last time these two played, Alabama defeated the Hurricanes, 34-13, to win the 1992 National Championship. Miami bested the Tide in the 1990 Sugar Bowl, but Alabama had a 10-game winning streak over the Hurricanes prior to that win.
