Alabama’s quest to reclaim the throne named a top 2023 CFB storyline

Alabama looks to return to the top of college football and the journey is expected to make headlines in 2023.

Alabama football looks to return to the College Football Playoff in 2023 after failing to make it in 2022 due to two regular season losses. Despite finishing the season ranked No. 5, there’s a lot of noise about the Crimson Tide dynasty coming to an end.

Well, head coach Nick Saban will likely use that sort of talk to motivate his team. A hungry Alabama program might be one of the scariest things in the sport.

College Wire Senior Editor Patrick Conn writes about how the Tide’s journey to making it back to a meaningful postseason game could be one of the top storylines in all of college football for the 2023 season.

“Last season not only did the Alabama Crimson Tide not win the SEC Championship, they weren’t even the SEC West champs. That belonged to the LSU Tigers. With so many familiar faces now in the NFL, can Saban reclaim the SEC West and SEC throne? The Tide fanbase sure hopes so. The annual LSU-Alabama showdown should determine who gets another shot at Georgia.”

Within the program, the top storyline remains the quarterback position and the three-man battle for the starting job.

Alabama’s 2023 season kicks off with a home game against MTSU, a primer before hosting a top-15 ranked Texas Longhorns team.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football as the 2023 season gets underway.
