Najee Harris — among the top running back prospects in the 2021 NFL draft — did something pretty awesome for his Alabama teammates, who are participating in Tuesday’s NFL pro day in Birmingham.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he was supposed to fly to the pro day from Dallas, but because of lightning, the flight was canceled. So he decided to drive … NINE HOURS to get there on time for the 10 a.m. start.
The kicker? He isn’t even working out on Tuesday. That should speak volumes about what kind of teammate he’ll be to whoever drafts him.
Here’s the story and some reaction to it from around Twitter:
Alabama RB Najee Harris’ flight from Dallas to Birmingham was cancelled last night due to lightning, so with no other travel options available, Harris drove nine hours to make it to Alabama’s Pro Day by 10 am today. He’s not even working out today but wanted to support teammates.
