Alabama’s Mac Jones with great deed for injured student

Mac Jones of Alabama reached out to an injured student who loves the Crimson Tide

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones may not take home the Heisman in 2020 but the Crimson Tide star already is a winner on and off the field.

Jones has done a wonderful deed for a student who was injured in a car accident that saw her friend perish.

These stories go unnoticed too often.

The redshirt junior — he could be headed to the NFL Draft in 2021 if he so chooses — reached out with an incredibly kind gesture to a fan of the school and its great football team.

Victoria Ray’s grandfather, Don Ray, played for Bear Bryant at Alabama and the love of the Tide runs deep for the UA student.

Victoria Ray was in a car accident and suffered multiple injuries. Victoria had suffered a long list of life-threatening injuries: A concussion. Two brain bleeds. A pelvis broken in five locations. A broken left femur. A broken right tibia. Two broken ankles. Two broken feet. Two broken heels. Her mother made an innocent tweet and Mac Jones noticed. He took action.

It was less than a week ago when the package arrived.

Victoria, groggy from fighting, opened the box. There it sat, all crimson and white. And in beautiful scripted Sharpie it read:

To Victoria, Prayers for a speedy recovery. Roll Tide. Mac Jones

Victoria squealed and yelled out, “What did I do to deserve this?” She cradled her gift as her tears spilled onto the football.
