Due to a COVID-19 outbreak at LSU, the Alabama-LSU football game scheduled for Saturday will not be played.

The Tigers reported four players tested positive for COVID-19, but several more were placed in quarantine. There is a minimum threshold of players needed to play a game, 53, and LSU is currently below that number.

TJ Finley is LSU’s only available quarterback, and due to the outbreak, the Tigers would have no tight ends or long snappers available for play.

LSU currently has no flexibility in its schedule after having its game with Florida postponed last month due to an outbreak with the Gators. That game was moved to Dec. 12. The SEC championship game is currently scheduled for Dec. 19.

No. 1 Alabama has an opening on its schedule for Dec. 12.

This is the third SEC game canceled for this weekend’s slate, with Tennessee-Texas A&M and Mississippi State-Auburn also off the schedule for now.
