The first Alabama player to enter the transfer portal when the window opened up on Monday was wide receiver Thaiu Jones-Bell. Jones-Bell has not been with the football program since August.
The Florida native joined the Crimson Tide as a part of the 2020 recruiting class. He came to Tuscaloosa by way of Miami Carol City High School. Jones-Bell was regarded as a four-star coming out of high school.
In three seasons with the program, Jones-Bell hauled in four receptions for 19 yards. He was primarily used as a reserve wide receiver at Alabama.
The expectation is that Jones-Bell will transfer closer to home to continue his college career. It will be interesting to see where the former top-150 recruit lands at.
