The hottest team of the SEC Tournament will now meet one of the best turnaround stories of the college baseball world in Hoover on Friday.
Alabama, winners of four-straight games including two upset victories at the SEC baseball tournament, will square off with Texas A&M, who won the SEC West after failing to make the tournament one season ago, on Friday at the Hoover Met.
Texas A&M won the first game of its stay in Hoover by defeating Florida, 10-0 in a run-rule win. The Aggies allowed just one hit to the Gators in the game shortened to 7 innings while belting out 12 hits and four home runs. Four batters recorded multiple hits in the game for Texas A&M, Austin Bost led the Aggies by scoring three runs.
Alabama has won their first two games of the tournament in a similar fashion, by jumping out to an early lead and fighting off two late home runs to seal the win.
In Wednesday’s game with No. 3 seeded Arkansas, Alabama grabbed an early 3-0 lead before Arkansas’ Jalen Battles and Chris Lanzilli hit home runs to cut Alabama’s lead to 4-3.
First pitch of this game is still to be determined, as this is scheduled to be the third game of the day.
