After teammate LT Overton did so earlier this past week, starting Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle Tim Keenan III announced Saturday that he would be returning to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season.
A veteran defensive tackle, Keenan has been a prominent member of the Crimson Tide’s front each of the last two seasons, which included a career-year in 2024. This past season, Keenan had a career-high 40 tackles with eight TFL, 2.5 sacks, and one PD.
For his Alabama career, Keenan has a combined 79 tackles, 11 TFL, 3.5 sacks, and two PD from 2021-24. Keenan did not record any stats during the 2021 season, redshirting his true freshman year.
With the return of Keenan, it means that Alabama’s defensive line will once again be led by the redshirt senior, alongside the likes of the aforementioned Overton. In addition to those two, James Smith is also set to return, and is the likely favorite to start alongside Keenan in 2025 at defensive tackle.
