Alabama entered Week 2 against Texas ranked No. 3 in the nation, but will fall after suffering a 10-point loss at home to Texas. The final score of the contest was 34-24.
The box score does a pretty decent job of telling the story, but it was an overall ugly game on the part of the Crimson Tide. There were major issues on both sides of the ball that only seemed to get worse as the game progressed.
Over the next few weeks, the Tide’s schedule is not the most difficult, which could either help or hurt the program looking to return to the College Football Playoff after missing it in 2022.
The only quarterback to see the field for Alabama was Jalen Milroe, who made history in the team’s Week 1 win, but only completed 14 of his 27 pass attempts for 255 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Milroe was sacked five times, while Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers wasn’t brought down once.
There is an abundance of problems with this Alabama team. They will need to be sorted out in the coming weeks if Nick Saban and his program want to play in a meaningful bowl game and potentially compete for a national championship.
