Alabama rolled on Saturday against Western Carolina when the Crimson Tide walked away with a 66-3 victory over the Catamounts.
While the opponent won’t do much to impress the College Football Playoff committee, it might not have hurt anything — at least for the time being. The latest Amway Coaches Poll was released on Sunday, and Alabama remained in the Top 5.
Here are some of the other major takeaways from the latest rankings:
- Oregon fell from No. 6 to No. 13 after losing to a 5-5 Arizona State team
- Penn State dropped three spots from No. 9 to No. 12 following a 11-point loss to No. 2 Ohio State
- Baylor found its way back in the top 10 after the a big 24-10 win over Texas
- Virginia Tech (No. 23), Navy (No. 24) and USC (No. 25) all made their way into the top 25, with USC making the biggest jump moving up 9 spots
