Alabama’s softball roster got a huge boost on Saturday. Ball State transfer and 2022 MAC Player of the Year Faith Hensley announced that she will transfer to Alabama. She is the second transfer to join the program this offseason. The other addition was North Alabama transfer, Emma Broadfoot.
Hensley spent four seasons at Ball State. During her time with the Cardinals, she received numerous awards and honors. Hensley was a First-Team All-MAC selection the past two seasons, she was also the MAC Player of the Year in 2022. She leaves Ball State in good standing, ending her time there as the career leader in on-base percentage, second in batting average and third in slugging percentage.
In four seasons, she had a combined batting average of .389 with 25 home runs and 97 runs batted in. She played primarily left field the past two seasons. The Tide will return outfielders Kat Grill, Jenna Johnson and Jordan Stephens. It’s possible that Crimson Tide fans will see Hensley in left field to start the season for Alabama. The upcoming season will be Hensley’s fifth and final year of college eligibility.
First I want to say thank you to Ball State University for an amazing 4 years and undergraduate degree.
