Alabama safety to reportedly enter NCAA transfer portal

After transferring to Alabama last offseason, the safety in back in the portal.

Yet another member of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s secondary has entered the transfer portal, as safety King Mack officially announced his intentions Friday night to do so.

Mack is transfer portal entrant No. 22 for the Crimson Tide so far this cycle, as well as the sixth since the program’s ReliaQuest Bowl loss to the Michigan Wolverines.

The 2024 season was the first, as well as only, season for Mack at Alabama, as the safety transferred from the Penn State Nittany Lions last offseason.

In 2024, Mack was primarily a backup at safety who saw time on special teams for the Crimson Tide, and finished the year with 14 total tackles.

Mack will be entering his junior season in 2025, and is the third Alabama defensive back to enter the transfer portal so far this offseason alongside DeVonta Smith and Jahlil Hurley. Alabama also lost Malachi Moore at the safety position due to graduation.
