Alabama rises in latest USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank after Week 5

The Crimson Tide continue to rise after their Week 5 win.

As you’d expected after to their Week 5 win over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide are on the move in numerous polls, having already risen multiple spots in both the AP and Coaches Polls on Sunday.

Well, you can now add the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank to that list, as the Crimson Tide are now ranked as the No. 1 team in the country in that as well.

The Crimson Tide were previously sitting at No. 5 prior to the Georgia game, but now jump four spots from No. 1 after the win. Georgia also dropped four spots after the loss, now sitting at No. 5.

Alabama was also followed by Texas, Ohio State, and Tennessee in between them and the Bulldogs at No. 5.

After the Georgia win, Alabama’s opponents are also now ranked as:

  • Western Kentucky – No. 54
  • South Florida – No. 80
  • Wisconsin – No. 48
  • Georgia – No. 5

Alabama’s next opponent are the Vanderbilt Commodores, who sit at No. 92.
