Shortly after the program officially missed the College Football Playoff, the Alabama Crimson Tide received some more unfortunate news Sunday when it was reported that true freshman wide receiver Caleb Odom will be entering the transfer portal when it opens.
Odom was currently in his first season at Alabama, and up to this point in the season, has a combined seven receptions for 65 yards.
Prior to Alabama, Odom was the nation’s No. 53 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. A four-star prospect, Odom was also the nation’s No. 2 ranked tight end out of Carrollton High School in Georgia, but made the switch to wide receiver once at Alabama.
Odom is now the third wide receiver to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal for the Crimson Tide this season, joining Kobe Prentice and most recently, Kendrick Law, who also announced his plans Sunday.
Alabama’s total for the season now sits at seven players in the portal.
