According to reports, Alabama Crimson Tide left-handed pitcher Alton Davis II has entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the program.
A sophomore, Davis has served as Alabama’s closer across each of the last two seasons where he owned a combined 5-4 record with a 5.48 ERA, a 70-29 K-BB ratio, and 12 saves across 67.1 IP. Also a former SEC All-Freshman selection in 2023, Davis held a 4-2 record for the Crimson Tide this past season with a 5.61 ERA, 38-17 K-BB ratio, and four saves across 33.2 IP.
In addition to Davis entering the portal, Alabama also added a noteworthy name to their 2025 roster Thursday in Garrett Staton, who committed to the Crimson Tide from Samford.
A three-year starter at Samford, Staton holds a career slash line of .292/.385/.511 across 167 games with the Bulldogs, while also having hit 32 HR with 123 RBI and 26 SB. The third baseman is also coming off a career-year at Samford where he slashed .319/.390/.633 with 19 HR, 69 RBI, and seven SB.
Thankful and fired up for this new opportunity.
Roll tide!

Will the Crimson Tide see any additional transfer portal movement in the coming days?
