Alabama suddenly lost newly hired assistant coach Jay Graham last week. The special teams and tight ends coach decided to take some time away from the game for his mental health, which is more than respectable.
Unfortunately, that left the Crimson Tide searching for a replacement option. It’s not ideal timing, but Nick Saban could have someone in mind.
According to Matt Zenitz with AL.com, Alabama could be targeting Memphis special teams coordinator Drew Svoboda for its recent opening at the position.
Sources confirmed that Memphis special teams coordinator Drew Svoboda is a name to keep an eye on for the opening on the Alabama staff.
A former Texas high school coach who made the move to the college level in 2018.

This is what AL.com had to say about Svoboda:
Svoboda is a former Texas high school coach who won 93 games in 10 years at Klein Collins High School in Houston before making the move to the college level in 2018 with Rice. He was hired at Memphis in January.
It sounds like he’s an up-and-coming guy, which could make him an appealing addition for the next several years. Let’s see what happens with it.
