Tragic news out of Alabama in prep sports.
AL.com reported Morgan Academy student-athlete Caden Tellier died overnight after sustaining an injury during his team’s game against Southern Academy in Selma.
“At AISA, we are a close-knit family of schools, and our hearts are heavy as we send our deepest condolences and prayers to Caden’s family, friends, and the entire Morgan Academy community,” Michael McLendon, executive director of the Alabama Independent School Association, said in a statement. “This loss is unimaginable, and we stand with them in their grief.”
The injury happened in the third quarter of the win over Southern Academy on Friday.
The game was delayed while they treated Tellier and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance from the field.
Incredibly sad news to report. Morgan Academy football player Caden Tellier has died. Tellier died after he was injured during his game on Friday night.
