Already owning two losses so far this season, it’s clear that the margin for error going forward for the Alabama Crimson Tide is nothing short of zero if the program wishes to make the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.
Sitting at 6-2 overall as well, just what is Alabama’s current outlook for the College Football Playoff?
According to the latest edition of ESPN’s “Bubble Watch,” Alabama is listed in the “First Four Out” category on the outside of the 12-team field. Along with the Crimson Tide in the “First Four Out” are Notre Dame, Iowa State, and Kansas State, while LSU, who is Alabama’s next opponent, is not far behind.
As noted above as well, Alabama doesn’t have a margin for error going forward due to their two losses, but could certainly help their College Football Playoff chances by winning out, starting with the game against LSU next week.
If the Crimson Tide were to win out as well, would that 10-2 resume as a non-conference champion be enough to get in?
