It did not take long for one Alabama player to announce his plans for the future following the Crimson Tide’s loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Junior outside linebacker Dallas Turner confirmed with reporters that he will be entering the 2024 NFL draft.
When asked by ESPN’s Alex Scarborough about his future plans, Turner replied, “I’m gone. Ain’t no if, ands or buts about it.”
In all likelihood, Turner will be a first-round pick. Most draft experts have Turner mocked as a top-10 pick.
Needless to say, the Florida native had a pretty successful career at Alabama. In three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Turner recorded 117 tackles, 21.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
As a junior, Turner was named a permanent team captain for the Crimson Tide and was a consensus first-team All-American.
Turner’s presence on defense and leadership will be missed next season. Turner had a great career in crimson and white and will now look to continue his football career at the professional level.
No surprise but Alabama standout edge Dallas Turner tells me he’s turning pro. “I’m gone. Ain’t no if, ands or buts about it.”
