Alabama newcomer ranked among Perfect Game’s top incoming freshmen

Alabama will have one of the nation’s top freshmen this spring.

Recently, Perfect Game put together a list of their Top 500 freshmen who did not sign with a professional team, or were not drafted, this past summer, and will instead head to campuses to begin their college baseball careers in 2025.

As you’d expect, the Alabama Crimson Tide were represented on this list as well, headlined by landing a player within the Top 10 overall in utility man Andre Modugno, who sits at No. 10.

A native of New Jersey, Modugno is coming off a senior season in which he played for IMG Academy in Florida, slashing .286/.444/.523 for one of the nation’s top teams. Modugno also posted two HR, 12 RBI, and three SB over 25 games, and is likely to make an impact this spring for Alabama as a true freshman.

Elsewhere on the list, Alabama’s next player came at No. 191 in left-handed pitcher Ashton Alston out of Christian Community in Tennessee. Also in the rankings were Nash Wagner (No. 212), Amari Jefferson (No. 222), Jack Ketchum (No. 338), Connor Lehman (No. 354), Josey Williamson (No. 458), Sean Griggs (No. 476), and Jon Young (No. 498).
