Alabama Morning Drive: Jerry Jeudy finally gets a QB in Denver

The top stories involving Alabama and the rest of the SEC on Wednesday morning.

Good morning and welcome back in to Alabama Morning Drive. We have finally made it to hump day and also the start of the 2022 SEC basketball tournament.

Today we will look at the matchups in Tampa, Jerry Jeudy’s new quarterback, and the potential trouble in Baton Rouge for LSU basketball.

Jerry Jeudy’s new QB in Denver

After a couple of seasons in the NFL with mediocre quarterback play, former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy will finally have a top-tier guy passing him the football. On Tuesday afternoon the news broke that Russell Wilson had been traded to the Denver Broncos.

There were reports that Aaron Rogers of the Packers could end up in Denver but Rodgers signed an extension in Green Bay instead. Jeudy had his hopes up in potentially playing with Rodgers then they were quickly shattered until the news of the Wilson trade. Jeudy reacted hilariously on Twitter.

SEC tournament tips today

The 2022 SEC tournament will begin today in Tampa, FL. There are two matchups on the docket tonight. The first of which will tip-off at 5:00 p.m. CT between 12-seed Missouri and 13-seed Ole Miss. The second matchup of the night is between 11-seed Vanderbilt and 14-seed Georgia. Game two will tip approximately 25 minutes after game one has ended.

The winner of Missouri/Ole Miss will play 5-seed LSU and the winner of Vanderbilt/Georgia will play 6-seed Alabama. Both of those matchups will be on Thursday.

LSU men’s basketball receives notice of allegations from NCAA

On Tuesday afternoon, news broke that the LSU men’s basketball team had received a notice of allegations from the NCAA. The infractions date back to 2017, Will Wade’s first year as the head coach in Baton Rouge.

A heavy fog of uncertainty is sure to be over the team during both the SEC and NCAA tournaments.
