Ten years ago, nobody in their wildest of dreams would have ever envisioned where Alabama Crimson Tide basketball would be in 2024. The Tide are widely regarded as the preseason No. 1 team in the country, they are coming off of a first-ever Final Four appearance and boast one of the top recruiting classes in the country year in and year out.
As part of the Tide’s first-ever Final Four run this past Spring, they had to go through the No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels. Now, the two sides will meet again on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. This time, the Crimson Tide will be traveling to Chapel Hill for the contest, something I am sure Nate Oats is thrilled with.
Last year the Crimson Tide lost to Clemson in the ACC/SEC Challenge, but ultimately got their revenge in the Elite 8. A road win against the pre-season No. 10 Tar Heels would be a great resume boost to earn early in the year.
The Alabama women, who also enter the season ranked, will take on the California Golden Bears on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Last year, the ladies came up short on a road trip against the Syracuse Orange.
