Hofstra point guard Aaron Estrada entered the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon, and a handful of programs have already reached out including the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Estrada began his college career at St. Peter’s in 2019. He spent one season playing for the Peacocks. He averaged 8.1 points per game and shot 40.5% from the floor.
He transferred to Oregon following his freshman campaign. Estrada played in just nine games for the Ducks while averaging 3.1 points per game.
After struggling to find his footing in the PAC-12, Estrada transferred closer to home to play for Hofstra head coach and former NBA guard Speedy Claxton.
Estrada spent the past two seasons as the focal point of the Pride roster. He was named as the CAA Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. As a senior, Estrada averaged 20.1 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 4.3 assists per game. He shot an efficient 47.8% from the field and 36.8% from three.
Alabama will have to out-recruit the likes of Arkansas, Kansas State, Tennessee, and Georgetown. The Tide previously landed a New Jersey native through the transfer portal in Jahvon Quinerly. Now, they are trying to do so again by recruiting Estrada.
Hofstra transfer Aaron Estrada has heard from the following schools since entering the transfer portal:
