Alabama loses five-star wide receiver commit to fellow SEC program

Alabama lost one of their top 2025 commitments Wednesday afternoon.

After taking a visit to Oxford on Saturday, five-star Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver commit Caleb Cunningham officially flipped his commitment to the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday afternoon.

Cunningham, who was one of the highest-rated recruits in Alabama’s 2025 class, had previously been committed to the Crimson Tide since July of 2024.

As mentioned previously, Cunningham is a five-star prospect in the 2025 class, and is ranked as the nation’s No. 16 overall player in the cycle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Cunningham is also ranked as the nation’s No. 2 overall wide receiver, as well as the top player in the state of Mississippi where he attends Choctaw County High School.

With the decommitment of Cunningham, Alabama’s 2025 class now sits at No. 2 nationally with 22 total commitments, only one of which is a wide receiver. That is Lotzeir Brooks, a four-star prospect.

The decommitment of Cunningham also means that Alabama now has a total of four five-star prospects still committed this cycle.
