Alabama linebacker, former 5-star prospect to enter NCAA transfer portal

The former five-star prospect is in the transfer portal.

Only a day after starter Jihaad Campbell declared for the 2025 NFL draft, the Alabama Crimson Tide have now lost yet another member from their inside linebacker room, this time coming via the NCAA transfer portal in Jeremiah Alexander.

Alexander, a redshirt sophomore, originally joined the Crimson Tide back in 2022 where he was a member of Alabama’s recruiting class that year. Rated a five-star prospect, Alexander was considered as the nation’s top edge rusher in that cycle, as well as the top player in the state of Alabama out of in-state Thompson High School.

Once at Alabama however, Alexander was primarily moved from an edge rusher to inside linebacker where he saw a limited amount of action across the past three seasons. Since 2022, Alexander has a combined nine tackles with the Crimson Tide, which includes a career-high five during the 2024 season.

In all, Alexander is now transfer portal entrant No. 21 overall for Alabama this offseason, as well as the first from the Crimson Tide’s inside linebacker room.
