KNOXVILLE — Alabama has gashed Tennessee’s defense for four scoring drives that consumed more than 70 yards in the first half of the annual meeting between the two longtime Southeastern Conference rivals Saturday at Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee, however, has managed to hang around in the contest, as the Volunteers did not turn the ball over in the opening 30 minutes.
The No. 2 Crimson Tide, therefore, has a 28-10 lead thanks to touchdown runs from Najee Harris.
Quarterback Mac Jones also has a touchdown run, as well as Brian Robinson. Jones completed his first 11 passing attempts in the contest.
Alabama got the ball first and UT forced a punt before the Crimson Tide scored on their next four possessions.
The Vols have scored on a field goal from Brent Cimaglia and a touchdown pass from Jarrett Guarantano to freshman Jalin Hyatt.
The Big Orange will get the ball to start the second half.
