Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide have landed their second commitment for the 2021 class from three-star defensive tackle from Montgomery, Alabama, Anquin Barnes.

Barnes is the second recruit to commit to Alabama as they landed four-star linebacker Deontae Lawson, another in-state recruit.

Barnes was given three stars from 247Sports, but is expected to eventually be bumped up as a four-star recruit.

The defensive tackle attended Robert E. Lee high school in Montgomery and decided to stay in state by choosing Alabama over Auburn. Barnes also received other SEC offers from the University of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and had interest from Mississippi State.

He made his announcement via Twitter.

It didn’t seem to be a difficult decision for him, as he mentions in his commitment statement that Alabama is a school he’s had his eyes on since he knew about football.

Lawson and Barnes have combined to bring Alabama to be ranked No. 55 in the country for the 2021 recruitment cycle. However, it is still early and the Crimson Tide is expected to climb the rankings rather quickly.
